About This World

The old world opened gates to Hell. Almost half of humanity died before they closed. Under the Cortex, a single world government, the survivors endure through surveillance, containment, and control. Paroxysm is a persistent, text-based multiplayer roleplaying game set in a modern supernatural dystopia. The supernatural is real, and some people carry natures that hunger, listen, and inherit powers nobody authorized. Play is player-led, built on societies, conflict, and consequences. Some players build communities beyond the Cortex, with their own beliefs and reasons to resist. The game is in early alpha and the world is still forming. Paroxysm is a world built by its people.
