Copyright notice requirements

Send a written notice to the copyright contact below. A complete notice should include:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized representative.
• Identification of the copyrighted work, or a representative list when multiple works are involved.
• Identification and location of the allegedly infringing material, including the exact Mudhaven URL or hosted project details.
• Contact information sufficient to reach the complaining party.
• A statement of good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the sender is authorized to act for the owner.

Mudhaven response

Mudhaven may request missing information, notify the affected member, preserve relevant records, and remove or disable access to material when a notice appears complete and valid. A notice does not automatically decide ownership or fair use.

Counter-notices

A member who believes material was removed by mistake or misidentification may contact Mudhaven for counter-notice instructions. Counter-notices may require identification of the removed material, consent to appropriate court jurisdiction, a statement under penalty of perjury, and a physical or electronic signature. Legal advice may be appropriate before submitting one.

Repeat infringement

Mudhaven may terminate accounts or services associated with repeated or serious infringement when appropriate. False or abusive notices may themselves create legal consequences.
