About This World
Ethereal Shadows is a free, browser-based dark-fantasy MUD. No download, no telnet client — just open play.devsrus.com and the world answers your commands. The Last Ember still burns over the Sanctuary of Duskhaven, and eight zones spread out from its light: the whispering pines of the Vale, the drowned galleries of Marlowe, the gilded burrows of the Warrens, the spell-scarred streets of Magefall, the cloud-piercing towers of Highspire, and the Ashen Necropolis where the throne is not empty. You wake at the Sanctuary, choose one of five races — Human, Emberkin, Stoneborn, Glimmerfolk, or Wraithblood — and one of six classes: Bulwark, Shadow, Pyromancer, Frostcaller, Cleric, or Reaver. From there the world is yours to burn, freeze, heal, or quietly stab your way across. Real-time combat with dodges, parries, and class skills 12 signature spells, from fireball to bone cage 15+ quests across five quest givers, with more coming Shops, trainers, banks, inns, and guild halls in a living town Party up with friends, share group XP, and fight together PvP zones for those who want their legend written in blood A living build: new zones land regularly, and the world's level cap rises with them It's grim.
