Included Content

Read or copy

Vice Island is a historical evil-themed CircleMUD area from a StrangeMUD contributor identified by the CAVNESS contact address in the bundled README. The author describes 103 rooms, 20 mobiles, and 40 objects, designed as a companion to Oceania. Much of its equipment is intended for evil-aligned characters.

Package contents
The original vice.island.v2.tar.gz includes README, spec_procs.vice, vice.mob, vice.obj, vice.wld.1, vice.wld.2, vice.zon.1, vice.zon.2, and the historical ftp_game.org notice. Special procedures for Oceania and Vice Island are included. The separate Oceania area is not included.

Original archive preservation
This download is unchanged and unrepacked, with its original filename, documentation, author terms, credits, world files, and special procedures intact. SHA-256: 19e88fa6c1c2f4c797f563410bf4a2e2cdc3fc2e4b16b24c5198fc1bbb3741a1.

Author terms and attribution
The bundled README permits changes and states that the author makes no legal claim on Vice Island except that design credit MUST appear somewhere in a MUD using it. Preserve the original README and credit the original designer identified there. This listing records those custom author terms; it does not replace them with an MIT, GPL, or unrestricted public-domain license. The historical contact address remains in the original file, but its current availability is not verified.

Installation and compatibility
This is world data and supporting source, not a complete runnable MUD. Read the README before installation. Builders must assign suitable zone numbers in place of the CC and DD placeholders, connect the OR-marked exits, review object and mobile flags, and integrate the special procedures. The author notes custom tidal-wave, detect-good, fear, and healing spell requirements or alternatives. These historical files may need adaptation to your codebase. Mudhaven has not compiled or boot-tested this package. Back up your existing world before testing.
