TechMud C3 - Historical Technopolis Codebase
Historical cyberpunk DikuMUD derivative by P. Lin, with source, world data, hunt-table tooling and its original README companion.
About this resource
Original technoC3.tar.gz and unchanged technoC3.readme. This Technopolis / TechMud package contains 55 C/header files and a cyberpunk world with communications devices, starships, bionics and hunting NPCs. The archive README identifies C3, while the credits file still says C2. The companion README refers to historical .Z packaging, but this supplied archive uses gzip. These documentation discrepancies are preserved. Compatibility notes Shops produce six items, unlike stock Diku. World changes require rebuilding the historical hunt table and reviewing MAXROOM. Read the included instructions before attempting deployment. The examined player, saved-object, ATM-account and board placeholders are empty; this is not a complete privacy or security audit. Credits TechMud / Technopolis: P. Lin, credited as PHL (Zeus). DikuMUD creators: Sebastian Hammer, Michael Seifert, Hans Henrik Staerfeldt, Tom Madsen and Katja Nyboe. The mail system is credited to Groo. Preserve all additional source, world and component notices. License warning The included DikuMUD license is not an unrestricted-use license. It states noncommercial and no-distribution-charge restrictions, notification requirements, preservation of copyright/license notices and creator attribution in running games. Preserve the exact included documents and individual component notices. Their presence does not establish that all redistribution conditions have been fulfilled. Historical contact addresses may be obsolete. TechMud's README applies the included Diku terms to its changes. Groo's mail-system notice asks that patches be sent back; preserve this notice without assuming broader permission. Compatibility and safety warnings Historical Unix C source and build assumptions may require porting. Modern compiler and operating-system compatibility are unverified. Neither compilation, boot testing, malware certification nor a comprehensive security audit has been performed. Review configuration, runtime data and historical scripts before deployment; do not execute bundled scripts blindly. Original files and notices are retained unchanged.
Compatibility
Historical Unix C source; modern compiler and operating-system compatibility unverified.
A download checksum confirms file integrity, not security or runtime compatibility. Review the source and included documentation before running unfamiliar software.
