Original Rom24b6OLC.tar.gz, a ROM-family codebase derived from Merc and DikuMUD. This is a complete historical distribution rather than an individual snippet or patch. Includes Thanos's OLC integration based on romolc10 and its original README.OLC. Credits Russ Taylor / Alander and the ROM contributors recorded in rom.credits and source headers. Inherited Merc credits include Michael Chastain, Michael Quan and Mitchell Tse. DikuMUD credits include Sebastian Hammer, Michael Seifert, Hans Henrik Stærfeldt, Tom Madsen and Katja Nyboe. Thanos is credited in README.OLC for this integration. Preserve all underlying OLC, area and contributor credits. License and attribution The archive includes its version of rom.license and the inherited Merc and DikuMUD notices. These contain attribution, login/help, notification, naming and redistribution conditions; wording differs between releases and must not be replaced with a newer notice. The included inherited notices also describe non-profit restrictions. Preserve every original license, copyright and credit. Licensing approval remains pending. Compatibility and safety warnings Mudhaven has not compiled, boot-tested or security-audited this historical software. Modern compiler and operating-system compatibility is unverified. Review old startup/build scripts and server defaults before use. Test in isolation, back up existing worlds and saves, and do not assume releases share compatible data formats. The unchanged archive includes historical runtime-data candidates such as player, board or system files. Review bundled data and account settings before running or exposing a server. OLC world files use a changed saved format. README.OLC documents area ordering and reset migration caveats. Back up world files before following those instructions.
