OasisOLC 1.0 - Original CircleMUD Online Creation Patch

Original 1996 OasisOLC package by Harvey Gilpin: menu-based room, object, mobile, zone, and shop editing for CircleMUD 3.0, with its integration patch and original conditions of use.

Included Content

Read or copy

OasisOLC 1.0 is Harvey Gilpin's (Rv) historical menu-based online creation suite for CircleMUD 3.0. It provides editors for rooms, objects, mobiles, zones, and shops, together with zone assignments, new-zone creation, explicit saves, and a list of unsaved edits. The original release announcement identifies CircleMUD 3.0 bpl10 as its integration target.

Package contents
The original oasisolcv1.tar.gz contains OasisOLC.README, OasisOLC.patch, the seven editor/support C and header files, and the historical ftp_game.org notice. This is an add-on patch package, not a complete runnable MUD.

Preservation
This download is the original archive, unchanged and unrepacked. All bundled copyright notices, credits, documentation, and conditions of use remain intact. SHA-256: 52d597af90bece2262ee86b32430ba70f3b999b96247ebf09b64055728f0688f.

Author conditions
Read the complete conditions in OasisOLC.README before use. They require users to notify the author by email, prohibit using the code for profit, require attribution and the same conditions for derivative works, and place responsibility for damage on the user. The historical contact address is preserved in the README; its current availability is not verified. This is a custom-terms historical release, not a claim of unrestricted or public-domain licensing. The README also credits an earlier redit/iedit system whose authors were unknown to Gilpin.

Compatibility and cautions
This 1996 source has not been compiled or boot-tested by Mudhaven. Existing or newer CircleMUD installations may need manual integration. The author warns of world-file loss and documents issues involving initial zone access, extended mobile fields, concurrent zone-header edits, and object weights. Back up your world and review the README before testing; use only with trusted builders.
