Mindcloud 2.5 is Zarius’s November 11, 2005 release of a Dystopia and God Wars-derived MUD. The original mc25b.tgz contains 331 archive entries, including C sources, world areas, build and startup files, IMC configuration and documentation. Features described in the README include hint editing, intelligent mobs, crash backtraces, revised formatting helpers and gameplay changes. This is a historical game codebase, not a stock Merc release or a standalone snippet.

License and attribution
The archive retains DikuMUD, Merc, God Wars, Dystopia, IMC2 and BSD component notices. Its bundled God Wars license requires Richard Woolcock’s express permission to run or distribute the source. Zarius’s permission statement for his own work does not supersede inherited requirements. Preserve all copyright notices, author credits, required login and help text, and applicable notification requirements. DikuMUD terms include restrictions on profit and distribution charges. Historical contact details may be obsolete. No additional permission is asserted by this listing.

Runtime-data warning
The original includes a historical hostname-based ban entry and diagnostic and shutdown records. IMC password fields appear placeholder-like, which is not proof that every file is free of sensitive data. The player, notes and log directories contain no regular files. Review configuration and runtime records before any deployment or redistribution.

Compatibility and security warning
The README describes unfinished features. The code includes default name-based administrator promotion that must be reviewed before exposing a running game to users. Historical networking configuration and dependencies also require review. The Makefile targets GCC and Unix with zlib and pthreads. Test in isolation and back up data before integration or use. Mudhaven has not compiled, boot-tested or security-audited this codebase, and modern compiler and operating-system compatibility is unverified.
