Merc Server - Historical Windows and DOS Bundle
Historical Windows and DOS Merc server binaries with world data, documentation and nested distribution archives.
About this resource
Merc Windows and DOS bundle Historical Windows and DOS Merc server binaries with world data, documentation and nested distribution archives. The original mercserver.zip contains separate nested MERCW32.ZIP and MERC.ZIP distributions with executables, runtime components, world files and documentation. A complete source distribution is not included. License and attribution Nested MERCW32.ZIP bundles DikuMUD, Merc and Envy license documents. Their attribution, notice, help-text and noncommercial conditions remain applicable. Runtime and DOS distribution terms require additional review. No permission is inferred from archive availability. Retain each original document unchanged. Compatibility and security warnings Contains nested MERCW32.ZIP and MERC.ZIP, executables, runtime DLLs, historical player records, password fields and documented default administrator access. Mandatory privacy/security review blocks publication independently of licensing approval. Do not reproduce account details in the public description or run the bundle on production. The Windows port is labeled alpha/test software for legacy Windows sockets. Modern compatibility and malware safety are unverified. Nested MERCW32.ZIP is different from the standalone mercw32.zip resource.
Compatibility
Legacy Windows sockets and DOS binaries with world data. Modern compatibility unverified. Not a complete source distribution.
A download checksum confirms file integrity, not security or runtime compatibility. Review the source and included documentation before running unfamiliar software.
Attribution stays with the work.
