Read or copy
Original social-3.tgz and social-3.zip distributions of the Version 3 online social editor. Their enclosed file names and contents match, while the archive bytes differ. Both formats are preserved unchanged. This is distinct from Version 4. License and attribution Both archives include the original License requiring retention of Erwin’s name and email notification when using the code. Source headers reference the inherited DikuMUD and Merc terms. Historical contact addresses may no longer work. Compatibility and operational warnings Back up the social table before migration. Follow the documented save-first and load-later sequence. Review SOCIAL_FILE permissions, allocation behavior, formatting portability and ROM-specific loader changes. The SEDIT command should be restricted to authorized staff. Historical software warning Mudhaven has not compiled, boot-tested or security-audited this material. Modern compiler and operating-system compatibility is unverified. Review the original notices before use.
