Merc 2.2 Sands - Samson GCC4 Compatibility Update

This 125-file distribution is the supplied Sands compatibility variant, with the README crediting Samson's GCC4 update. It differs from both stock Merc 2.2 and the earlier Sands archive. Mudhaven has not removed files, altered the source, or repacked this distribution.

The bundled Diku/Merc documents, IMC2 conditions, BSD component notice, and contributor notices apply. Review the IMC connection settings and startup configuration before use.

Pyramid attribution: the earlier Sands distribution contains a separate area/pyramid.readme by Andersen requiring his name to remain on the plaque at the top of the pyramid and in the #AREA listing. This compatibility archive retains pyramid.are and Andersen attribution but does not contain that separate readme. The attribution condition remains relevant; do not treat its absence as removal of the author's terms.

Compatibility and security
Historical C/Unix source updated for GCC4 in 2006. Current compiler and operating-system compatibility is unverified. Not compiled, boot-tested, or security-audited by Mudhaven.

Licensing
The bundled Diku terms include restrictions on commercial use and distribution charges, preservation of notices, publication and operation notifications, and login/credits attribution. Merc terms and contributor-specific notices also apply. Diku's later LGPL announcement does not automatically relicense derivative work.
