Merc 2.2 Sands
The collection index describes Merc_22_Sands.tar.gz as Sands Bugfixed Merc2.2. This 120-file archive is a distinct variant, not a duplicate of stock Merc 2.2. It includes C source and headers, areas, MOBProgram material, documentation, platform Makefiles, and a player-file utility. The archive does not establish a separate Sands release date or clearly identify a Sands maintainer.

Read Merc22/doc/license.doc and Merc22/doc/license.txt. Merc requires source copyright preservation and the shipped help merc attribution text. Merc22/area/pyramid.readme credits Andersen and asks that the author name remain on the pyramid plaque and in the area listing. Preserve that requirement and all other contributor notices.

Compatibility and security
Historical C and Unix build files require review for modern compilers and operating systems. Mudhaven has not compiled, boot-tested, or security-audited this release. Inspect startup scripts and configuration before running it in an isolated test environment. Historical documentation and contact addresses may be obsolete.

Licensing
The bundled Diku license restricts commercial use and distribution charges, requires preservation of its license and copyright notices, and includes publication and operation notification requirements plus login and credits attribution. The Merc terms and any contributor-specific notices also apply. The later Diku licensing announcement does not automatically relicense Merc or contributed material. This listing is not evidence of permission or a substitute for reading the included documents.
