Historical John Daub MacMERC 2.2.1 distribution for classic Macintosh, preserved in its original BinHex-encoded StuffIt format with the separate author update.

License and attribution
Merc and DikuMUD inherited terms require review. The February 22, 1995 companion README is an author update, not a complete redistribution grant. Embedded StuffIt documents have not been fully inspected. Preserve the HQX and companion README unchanged; do not infer permission from archive availability.

Compatibility and security warnings
Classic Macintosh, not modern macOS. The companion README says the author no longer supports MacMERC and cautions against assuming a complete working Macintosh network server. BinHex header, data-fork and resource-fork CRCs passed offline; its MacMERC_221.sit payload remains unsupported by available inspection tools. Full source/binary inventory and privacy review are incomplete, so a separate security hold blocks release. No execution, compatibility or malware-free guarantee is made.
