FFTacticsMUD Linux repair, release 2026.10.23 Includes repaired C++ source, supplied tactical maps, reconstructed nine-table SQL schema, minimal new help seed, build and startup helpers, installation guides, repair.patch, CHANGES.md, TESTING.md and CREDITS.txt. The original SQL backup was not available. Old players, accounts, shop inventory and other missing database content are not restored. Credits and license warning Original game source is credited to Damien Dailidenas (Trenton), 2002, with all rights reserved. Liko / Mudhaven prepared the Linux repair, reconstructed database and setup notes. No separate original redistribution license was found in the supplied snapshot, and the repair does not assign a new license or grant additional redistribution rights. Preserve all included notices. Permission requires review before distribution. Compatibility and completeness warnings Requires a Linux C++ toolchain, make, MySQL/MariaDB client development headers, OpenSSL development headers and a database. The package reports Linux build and account lifecycle testing in TESTING.md; this upload review did not rerun those tests. The game remains an unfinished prototype: shops remain disabled, the example skips an incomplete intro, and a complete campaign and all combat abilities are not restored or verified. Two retained zzreplace utilities are legacy 32-bit x86 ELF binaries, not a newly built game server. Review legacy utilities, backup source and scripts before use. Security warning The example configuration uses a placeholder database password and loopback binding. Configure private credentials locally; do not share server.env. Public game traffic is unencrypted text, so use a unique game password or an SSH tunnel. Archive integrity checks are not a comprehensive security audit or malware clearance. Review all code, utilities and scripts before running on an isolated test system.
