EnvyMUD 2.0 - Historical Merc-Derived Codebase
Original EnvyMUD 2.0 source and world release with historical build support, contributor documentation and inherited license notices.
About this resource
EnvyMUD 2.0, dated 25 December 1995, continues the Merc-derived Envy codebase. This unchanged original archive contains 129 regular files with C source, world areas, platform makefiles and documentation. License and attribution The bundled doc/license.doc, doc/license.txt and doc/license.nvy contain the DikuMUD, Merc and Envy terms. Retain inherited notices, contrib.txt, source and area attribution, and required in-game credits and help text. The documents contain noncommercial and notification conditions and are not an unrestricted public-domain grant. Distribution approval remains pending. Compatibility and security warning Historical compiler and platform assumptions require review. No modern build, boot or security audit has been performed. Inspect build and startup files before isolated testing. Player-format examples in the documentation are not operational accounts. No malware-free guarantee is made.
Compatibility
Historical C and Unix build environment. Modern compiler, operating-system and network compatibility unverified.
A download checksum confirms file integrity, not security or runtime compatibility. Review the source and included documentation before running unfamiliar software.
Attribution stays with the work.
License
