Ember/ROM naming and release conditions remain. The recovered downloads establish archive identity/integrity, not completed distribution approval. Retain the exact bundled 0.9.33+ EmberMUD notice revised 14 July 1998. Preserve required help ember/help embermud and login attribution, attempt-to-contact-Zak clause, inherited noncommercial and notification conditions, and all component notices. Historical contact addresses may no longer work. Licensing approval remains unresolved. Compatibility and safety warnings Historical prerelease with documented pet-rescue experience, CHAOS, looting, counter-skill experience and ACT_PROG bugs. Area conversion from 0.9.44a required; README says converter was not in the usual download locations. Staff shell feature requires security review. Modern compatibility unverified. No execution, compilation or malware clearance. Source includes legacy Windows build projects and Unix startup/shell functionality. Review privileged commands, build settings and defaults before use. Hash verification establishes unchanged bytes, not software safety.
