Early CircleMUD 3.0 source snapshot for historical research, legacy development, and comparing the beta releases. Includes the original C sources, world files, documentation, historical bug list, and saved world data.

Original archive
The download is circle-3.00bpl8.tar.gz, preserved byte-for-byte from the local historical collection. No files were removed, renamed, repacked, or modernized. Licenses, copyright notices, credits, documentation, source, and world data remain intact.

Licensing and attribution
The historical CircleMUD and DikuMUD license texts remain in the archive. CircleMUD upstream announced LGPL relicensing in 2020: https://www.circlemud.org/license.html . Consult that update alongside the included notices; this listing does not relicense independent contributor material. Keep author credits and applicable notices with redistributed material.

Compatibility and use
This is an archival source release, not a tested modern hosting template. It has not been boot-tested by Mudhaven. Downloaders are responsible for compiler compatibility, dependency choices, reviewing old code for security issues, adapting configuration, and testing before public deployment. Historical contact details and platform instructions may be obsolete.
